The Original Prince Charming

"One Day I Will Find My Prince Charming, But My Daddy Will Always Be My King." I saw this quote once and have to say that that pretty much sums up the way daughters feel about their dad's. I know that there is something so unique about the relationship between fathers and daughters. "Daddy" is a word that will instantly recall many different things. It's cold pizza for breakfast, or the occasional brownie. Building snow forts, card board box forts and tree forts. It's a strong hand placed firmly on the back of your bike with just enough force not to let you fall while slowly letting go as you learn your first form of independence. It's bear hugs and tickle torture. It's loving you enough to let you fall and being there to dust you off and put you back on your feet. It's kisses when you cry and a calming voice when you are anxious. It is never giving up faith in you. But mostly Daddy reminds us of powerful and unconditional love.

Last night was the "Daddy/Daughter" dance at the girls school. It was so sweet to see my two little girls so excited to get dressed up and go "out" with their dad's. Chris was able to fly in for the night just to take Brooklyn to the dance. It meant so much to her. They had a fantastic time and danced the night away. I am so grateful to James and Chris who are and always will be "Kings" in the eyes of their little girls.
